The implementation of the Softlink Liberty5 automation system at the Central University Library of Bucharest (BCUB) was a large-scale project. The joint team, consisting of consultants from Softlink Central Europe and BCUB specialists, managed to achieve a genuine change management performance in an interval of just 10 months, characterized by the following:

Data migration from three different, outdated, and unsupported library systems (1,076,071 titles and 2,121,337 volumes), including verification, correction, and record unification.

Integration with three other auxiliary management systems.

Re-barcoding of collections across all 20 branch locations.

Customization of interfaces and templates for entering, editing, and viewing resources and users.

Report creation, establishment of system access privileges, and rules for collection access.

Staff training for the institution's 215 positions.

Configuration of the mobile application, which allows users to easily search the library catalog, communicate with the library in real-time, and quickly and efficiently access various services offered by the library.
As a result, the system was successfully launched on October 1, 2022, just 10 months after acquisition, without a single day of service interruption.
The Softlink Liberty5 system is an exclusively web-based application, integrating the latest digital technologies, and providing a high-performance centralized platform to manage, discover, and deliver both the physical and digital resources held by the library.
