Bibliotecile și criza pandemiei COVID-19: soluții accesibile și eficiente

Who would have thought at the beginning of 2020 that, within 2-3 months, the entire society would be completely disrupted in all its aspects? Social interaction, the economy, education, and health now operate under previously unimaginable patterns.

Although no one can accurately predict what will follow, most experts agree that social distancing, remote work, and distance learning will persist for a long time, even after the pandemic is declared over.

However, every crisis is also an opportunity, and those who adapt quickly to the new conditions develop and prosper. Modern technologies, which have been on the market for some time but were previously used somewhat complementarily, are suddenly taking on the main role in supporting activities and ensuring organizations' continued presence in society.

Consistent with our mission to modernize libraries in Romania, we are meeting their needs with a set of accessible and effective solutions that address current challenges.

cloudLibrary – E-book and Audiobook Acquisition and Lending Platform

Through this platform, libraries can acquire e-books to offer them to library members for borrowing, while strictly protecting copyright.

Borrowing, returning, and reserving materials are done directly from the library's website by authorized readers, without the need for their physical presence at the library. Furthermore, managing the collection does not require staff to be present in a specific location.

Access to the cloudLibrary platform can also be obtained under a library consortium model, pooling resources and reducing the financial effort for each participating library.

Liberty5 – The Automated Library Management System

The Liberty5 system enables remote access to relevant information for learning or information-documentation processes through a series of specific features of high-performance web-based systems.

A large part of activities can be administered by librarians remotely, without requiring their physical presence in the library. Thus, electronic documents can be cataloged and full-text indexed to be accessed remotely by users, depending on their allocated rights; access to these resources is recorded in statistics.

Communication with readers is carried out efficiently through the system: the interface is quickly personalized for transmitting information of general interest, and emails and notifications can be sent automatically.

LIVA / Nebula / Depulvera / Sanitizer – High-Productivity Equipment for Book Cleaning and Disinfection

  • Dust elimination using high-performance and safe vacuuming and filtering technologies.

  • Disinfection (elimination of bacteria, molds, and viruses through the biocidal action of the QAC compound).

  • Exposure of materials to UV radiation.

Zeutschel – High-Productivity Solutions for Scanning and Digitizing Printed Materials

Scanning is done with maximum resolution, virtually instantaneously, and the result can be saved locally, sent via email, uploaded to the cloud, or stored in the mobile application.
