Starting May 25, 2018, new regulations regarding the protection of personal data (GDPR) came into force, applicable to all public institutions and commercial companies that collect the personal data of citizens within the European Union.
Evidently, libraries in Romania fall under the scope of these regulations, and the necessary measures and procedures to be implemented require, on one hand, a good knowledge of this regulation, and on the other hand, the existence of IT system features that are in full compliance (GDPR-compliant) with these regulations.
Softlink Central Europe, as a provider of library automation systems, hereby informs clients and the user public that the Softlink Liberty5 library automation system—starting with version 8.027—is fully compliant with GDPR rules (GDPR-compliant).
Users of the Alice and Liberty3 systems, as well as earlier users of Liberty5, are asked to take the necessary steps for an upgrade.
We also specify that the latest software components of the Bibliotheca RFID equipment, supplied by Softlink Central Europe to clients with a valid technical assistance contract, are also GDPR-compliant.
